School Zone? What is the name of your state? California What does the legend under the SCHOOL, SPEED LIMIT 25 "WHEN CHILDREN ARE PRESENT" mean ? Does law enforcement have a common definition? Can anyone refer me to an authorative definition..in other words does this mean the whole day while school is in session or for only before and after school as kids are arriving and departing? |

| For purposes of speed enforcement, here is a definition from CVC 40802(b)(2): (2) For purposes of this section "school zone" means that area Thus, in general, if children are present in a posted area, it is a school zone. - Carl
