Question

Someone else got ticket in my vehicle...

What is the name of your state? Arizona

Another driver got a speeding ticket in my vehicle via a photo van and I got the ticket in the mail. What happens if I can't provide that person's information? Do I get the ticket?

Thanks for any advice!

It's kind of a friend of a friend thing and basically I just can't provide the information. That being said, I'm just wondering if I will get a violation. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I'm guessing Scottsdale, right?

Either way, the state of Arizona currently does NOT enforce speeding tickets issued via photos. Just don't do anything and you'll never hear about it again.

It was actually Mesa...just one of those photo vans. They're really beefing up their patrols there it seems. They're probably envious of all the monies generated by Scottsdale. Thanks for your advice and hopefully it won't amount to anything!

Az does enforce the tickets. If you reply to the court, you are then under their juridsidction. If you do not reply, they will probably send you a certified letter. Signing for the letter also brings you into the jurisdiction of the court. Next they send a process server to your house. If someone opens the front door you can be served. Avoid all of these and they usually drop the case.

I will admit I don't actually know the results of anybody getting cited from a photo van, I just know that any tickets issued from photos taken on, say, the 101 will NOT see any action taken to enforce them. Ever.
