Speeding to Careless Driving

What is the name of your state? New Jersey (NJ)

I was recently given a speeding ticket (going 79 in 55 zone - 4 Point ticket) by a NJ state trooper on Rt 287. I told the trooper that I have a clean driving record and I was not at fault. I called the violations bureau to get a court date and received a summons in the mail. But the Violation code given is 39: 4-97 (Careless driving - 2 Points). I called the bureau again & asked then if they had my ticket details correct & they told me that the officer had given then this code.

So I am planning to plea bargain as I have no DMV points/history. Is there a case for dismissal here as officer has given a speeding ticket to me & I may be charged for Careless Driving. Is CD lesser charge than speeding. Please shed some light.
