Speeding Citation Question

What is the name of your state? PA
Today on Sep 6, i was pulled over by PA State Police. After being issued a traffic citation for going 85 in a 65 on Interstate 81.i just want to make sure before i send in any money orders and whatnot the information on the ticket is correct and to be sure that if there is any way possible for myself to get out of the ticket i can. The officer did use a radar gun, but the date of the eqipment tested reads sep 4, 2002. I was told that if an officer does not calbrate his rader gun after issung a previous ticket , the ticket he issued me would become void. Or that the gun should be callbrated everyday. Everythig else on the ticket is correct, such as name, and time of tikcet issued. But the only thing is about that radar....and what else could i possibly check for. LAst thing was, he said nothing about points being issed, so does that mean that i have none, or did i aquire some becaue of the speeding?

Testing and calibrating the radar gun are two different things. In my state radar guns have to be tested every 30 days, the gun must pass all tests to be certified for use. Calibration is done daily prior to use.

The date tested refers to the date on which the equipment was tested by an approved testing station. This must be done every 60 days.

What you refer to is the daily testing of the unit with a tuning fork. I honestly don't know the answer, as I am a municipal officer and not a State Trooper. In Pa, municipal officers cannot use radar.

Points are assigned regardless of the issuing officer. Points will be assessed (4 by the way for 16-25 mph over the limit) against your driving record.

Good luck if you choose to plead not guilty. Make sure you have a valid defense though**************.it seems that may be difficult since you do not deny your guilt in your post.
