Speeding help

What is the name of your state? IL-cook cty

About a month ago I got a speeding ticket on I-90, going 90 in a 55. I have a court date coming up and I want to know if I need to hire a lawyer or not? This is my first ticket ever. I dont want this to go on my record, will I just have to pay a higher fine and/or go to traffice school??
