Speeding in Illinois

Monday Oct. 6th at 2:45 my wife called me, telling me that a Illinois State Police officer had stopped by the house inquiring about my where abouts. She explained to him that I was at work, he then explained to her that on Sun. Oct. 5th he and his son were on a ATV (four-wheeler) and observed me travelling at a high rate of speed and "blow through a stop sign". Shortly after leaving my home he came to my place of work. He called my office and asked me to come outside to speak with him. I went outside and he began to ask questions about the previous night. He then asked for my drivers license. I gave it to him. He proceded to issue two citations to me. One for speeding and one for running a stop sign. I asked him how he could do this after telling my wife he and his son were on the ATV. He explained he was in his mini-van and had no reason to lie. Just curious what my options are here? Any help would be appreciated.
