Speeding in NC

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? North Carolina
My wife just got a speeding ticket for driving 71 in a 55. I believe this violates G.S. 20-141(j1) of the NC code. She has not had a ticket in over 4 years (not even a parking ticket). We are legal residents in TX, but live in NC since I am stationed at Fort Bragg (on orders) on active duty with the Army. What kind of fees (total) are we looking at and what is the best way to handle this case.
