Speeding -SOL

What is the name of your state? Michigan

I was given a citation for going doing 65 on a 55 road. I am only visiting the country(non-US citizen) and was using my International Driving Permit. Since I did not have $85 cash the the officer took the license as a bond. I do not need the license again and wont need to drive here again at least for another 3-4 years. Is there some time limit after which the state will drop the charges?

Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks!

The charge will not be dropped and a warrant for your arrest will be issued. If you are stopped again, you could be taken to jail.

Give them a call, explain you are leaving the country and see if they will drop it or reduce the fines. In any event, you probably don't want to just ignore it.
