Speeding ticket..

What is the name of your state? Texas..

I was pulled over for speeding 54 in a 35 (it's in the middle of a speed trap.. the speed limit drops from 45 to 35, then raises back to 45 not more than a block away). I've heard from friends that you can have your ticket dismissed if you convince the judge that you were being reasonable and prudent with your speed. Is this true? If not, is there any other things I can do to try to fight the ticket?

*** Though there may have been some isolated incident where a ticket was dismissed on this (probably when the judge stopped laughing when he first heard this 'defense tactic'), but it is extremely unlikely to work again.

*** Yes. And usually unsuccessful. I might add one thing that will absolutely, positively get you out of these tickets in the future.... don't speed.

Oh, and one more little secret.... 54 mph in a 35 OR a 45mph zone is still speeding!!

Now why do you think it does that? Couldn't be just to raise money, could it?

Texas allows online traffic school. Call the clerk and see if you are eligible. If so pay the fine and take the school, keep the ticket off your record, and slow down in the middle of speed traps. Can you advise what city?
