Speeding ticket

What is the name of your state? Michigan

Yesterday i was on the recieving end of a speeding ticket. when the officer was explaining my ticket, i asked if i could see the radar gun and the speed at which i was going. he told me that it is NOT state law that the officer "locks" in the speed that i was traveling. and there fore said no.

i thought that i have the right too see the gun and understand why i was being issused the citation. does anyone know anymore about this, and what should i do.

if this is the case in my state what is keeping the officers from writting ramdom tickets and then not having to show proof to the offender?

**A: the officer already told you why you were issued a citation.

C'mon, you know you were speeding. Just pay the ticket.

In MI when you go to district court, you can ask to see the officer's MCOLES radar certification and the calibration of the radar unit. Court is the place to dispute a traffic citation, not the side of a road.
