speeding ticket

ok ill try to make a long story short, i got a speedig ticket today 71 in a 55,i was driving my wifes jeep,we both have our own insurance policies with different companies,mine is with progressive,and i have to admit i always pay my payment late but not so late that my insurance lapses,jus a few days late,well at any rate i got to thinkin after i got the ticket bout this and low and behold april 28th was the renewal month for my insurance....so as soon as i got home i renewed my insurance they said it show in effect as of today but it wont show on paperwork till tommorow..i know from expirence ill probably get a letter for proof of insurance from the state ...will i be charged with no insurance even though i was driving my wifes car which is coverd by her insurance ...ive never let my insurance lapse just lost track of the date .....well maybe you guys can help me out

oh and also i know im a dumb ass for paying late,and i wont be doing that again,i jus thought whats wrong with a few days late **************now i know (just in case someone wanted to be sarcastic )

Normally a speeding ticket does not generate a request for proof of insurance. This is usually only from an accident. Since you were driving the jeep, her insurance is the one with coverage.

oh and i forgot to mention the police officer had a trainee with him when he pulled my father and i over,when the officer gave me my ticket he dated it may 5th and it was the 6th, i m jus gonna pay this ticket,i didnt have any points on my license anyway ill just be good for the next 5 years (3for the points to come off my license and 5 for insurance).
