I got a speeding ticket from a cop that was sitting in a private driveway. Is that legal?

Oh my God, not another one. Why are they letting them get away with that?There should be a law. And there isn't. That means the ticket is valid. My question to you, why would an officer waste his time handing out tickets if he knew they could be dismissed on such a simple premise?
