Speeding TicketWhat is the name of your state? Utah My son was issued a ticket for going less than 10 MPH over the posted speed limit on 2-18-2006. He paid the fine of $82.00 as an admission of guilt. He was provided a receipt of payment from the city court clerk. He recieved a notice of Failure to Appear on Written Promise from the city court dated 3-16-2006. The total bail for this offense is now $132.00. Can we go before the City Justice Court and ask the judge to dismiss the speeding ticket, due to city administration error? Can we also ask that the fine be refunded? We have record that the fine was deducted from his checking account by the city. |

Speeding TicketTo: Senior Judge He went and paid the ticket fine of$82.00 to the City Justice court clerk. It waived his right to appear before the court, paid the ticket, which was an admission clerk. The clerk took payment by his VISA debit card. Two days later the debit charge was posted to his bank account. Zardoz5 |

| I don't see how he could get out of the speeding ticket at this point after admitting guilt and paying the fine. But if he paid it by any required due date prior to court date, and was not required to appear in court, he certainly should be able to get out of the failure to appear. |
