Speeding ticketWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Iowa My daughter was one week away from receiving her permanent drivers license. She received her second speeding ticket in less than one year. She is currently driving under her graduated license. Her first ticket she was 4 miles over the speed limit, she paid the ticket and went to the dot for her class and could not recieve her permanent license until 31st of July this year. She just got another ticket and the cop reports that she was ticketed at 79 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone. My daughter is devastated because she states that when the cop first turned on his lights she states she was traveling 59 mph and going down a hill. I know children can make up stories when faced in a situation like this but my daughter has never lied to me and I tend to believe her. The cop knew nothing of what would happen with her license when my daughter asked. He simply told her that she should go get her license before she receives the paperwork from the DOT and it would not be a problem. Please help! Should we go to court and contest or just pay the fine and face all the consequences? Kim |

| Perhaps your daughter needs to SLOW DOWN. Maybe it's not time for her to "graduate" to a permanent license in the first place? (Even 59 is 4 over the speed limit)
