| I received a speeding ticket in Washington state for going 54 mph in a 40 mph zone. I was given 3 choices. Pay the ticket, request a mediation hearing, or contest the ticket. The officer suggested that if I request a mediation hearing and explain the circumstances that the $100 fine will be substantially lowered. I have been told by others that I should contest it and request a list of things from the court, and if they don't provide everything by the court date, that the ticket will be thrown out. What should I do? If I contest it, what should I request from the court? Also, my social security number is incorrect on the ticket, I don't know if that makes a difference. Please help. Thank you. |
