Speeding Ticket - errorI was pulled over for speeding in Maryland. I read somewhere if the officer makes any mistake in writing up your ticket (spelling, wrong license plate number, etc), you're off the hook (through a technicality loophole). First, is this true? Secondly, the ticket says that I would receive a court date within 14 days if I wanted to contest the ticket (which I did). It took about two months to receive the court date, and my name is spelled wrong. Any way out through a technicality? Thanks for the help!!! |

| Been to traffic court in my state quite a bit lately and never seen a ticket dismissed for spelling errors. You should contact a local attorney for advice on the delay in receiving your court date. If that is a violation of your state code, the citation could be dismissed. |
