speeding ticket in GA

What is the name of your state?GA

Driving on a recently expired AZ license. I was visiting my Gf in Atlanta.The officer stopped me in the HOV lane, in a 55 zone @ 81. I don't remember my speed. I was on I-75 north, getting out of the airport. I didn't even see a speeding sign. It was my first violation/ticket. The officer told me that the fine would be around $75. I was willing to pay it but when I called to find out, I was told by a rude lady that it is $400. Gosh, I can't pay that. My court date is on 25th July. I will be back in GA around that time. What do I do ???. How do I get the fine down ? I have never been in this situation, any suggestions would be helpful.

I don't want points or hike in my insurance. I am moving to GA next month.

I just received a ticket at the exact same spot going the exact same speed as you mentioned. What you need to do is contact the Atlanta Solicitor's office and ask to speak with Raines Carter. Mr. Carter is a very nice man. Tell him your situation and ask if it would be possible to lower the speed on the ticket. Be sure to let him know that you have never had a ticket before and that you can't afford the fine that you received.
