Virginia Reckless Driving

This is a reckless driving ticket and usually requires a mandatory court appearance. If you just pay the fine you will have a reckless ticket on your record. Your insurance agent can tell you how much this will cost you over the next three years. As a rule of thumb you can estimate between 2,000 and 3,000 in extra insurance premiums. It depends on a lot of other factors, not just your driving record.

In VA this is reckless driving and therefore is a mandatory court appearance. Make sure you take plenty of cash, as the fine can be up to $1000 in the judge's sole discretion.
