What is the name of your state? California

Hi,

I received a speeding ticket in Nevada for going 5 mph over the speed limit. The traffic schools here in California tell me I have to request traffic school from the Nevada court. When I called Nevada regarding this they told me that I have to deal with California to be able to take traffic school because my drivers license is issued in California. They told me that they simply forward the information to California that I received a speeding ticket. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to be able to take traffic school?

Thank you!

It would seem to me that you need to fulfill Nevada's traffic school requirements since its their ticket.

I believe the CA DMV would be keeping track of your points, so you should contact them to see what they want you to do to keep the points off your license.

If the ticket is in Nevada, it is up to Nevada to determine what happens to the ticket from a conviction/reporting standpoint, NOT California.

That's true, but I was under the impression that traffic school doesn't change the conviction to a dismissal or prevent the ticket from being reported, it just keeps it from accruing points on your license. Since the ticket has already been settled and reported, it's now up to the CA DMV to decide whether or not this violation will add points to the license.

hmmm there was a prior response in there that brought this ticket to the front.
I suspected as much. It was probably reported. Possibly a commercial message?

There were a lot of old-thread-revivals today.
