I got a speeding ticket going 80/65 (my first speeding ticket) and I pled not-guilty. I am originally from New York, where if you go to court and the officer doesn't show up, you get out of the ticket. My original plan was, if the officer did showed up, to plead guilty to a lesser charge so that I don't get points on my license (if that option is offered). Then I read some of the threads on this site about PA and I am worried. Someone said that PA officer's are not required to show up in court and that it's really hard to get out of a ticket. Do I even have a chance of the prosecuter giving me this option or is it just a waste of my time going to court?
