Speeding Traffic ticket

What is the name of your state? GA

I received a Speeding ticket by mail from Indianapolis Traffic Department with fine and instruction to surrender my License to GA Driver License Office. I was 20 year & 5 months of age when this ticket was issued to me last November, 2004.

I surrendered my GA License and paid fine to the Georgia Driver License Office. Georgia Driver License Office told me that my license will be returned to me October, 2005.

I am a student and working too. I am now literally handicaped becuase I can not driver without a License.

Is there any legal way I request Driving License Office to issue me a restricted license till I get my original license so that I can continue driving to school and work. Please help.

Thanks
Zahidsz

Because you shouldn't be asking US, you should be asking the Georgia Driver's License Office.

I wouldn't suggest even operating an automible without a drivers license (unless you're prepared to risk being arrested for what someone claims "the legal law" is). Have you ever hit someone, caused an accident, seriously threatened someone else's life or property while on the road, etc? If not, then you're like my friend who's been through the same situation, no (legal) due process of law (only coercion) was ever used to take away his license, and now he operates his private automobile on the roads without it.

Ask yourself the question: Did you ever see a painting of George Washington riding through town with a little metal tag hanging off the butt of his horse for the "protection of the public"? Why not? I mean, horses are dangerous, have you ever been around a spooked horse? There's no "off" button to turn off a pissed off horse, and there's no "brakes" to stop one either, unlike there is for an automobile.

Therefore, ask yourself this question: When did we give government the power to regulate every person on the roadway, even if they have never infringed upon someone else's rights?
