What is the name of your state? South Carolina
I was ticketed for speeding (72/55) while passing 3 vehicles on a 2 lane hwy in Aiken, SC on US highway 78. I braked to return to 55mph immediately after returning to the right lane. I passed 2 cars and a tractor trailer going 50 mph. One of the cars was an unmarked SC highway patrolman.
The patrolman informed me that I could not exceed 55 mph in any lane on a 2 lane hwy. Is this correct? I was taught to accelerate quickly, get out of the left lane, and slow down after returning to the right lane in high school driver's training some 35 years ago. Do have any arguments to have this ticket dismissed?
