My wife received a ticket for no automobile insurance about 7 yrs ago. For various reasons, the fine was never paid. My question is: Is there a statute of limitations on the paying of insurance fines in Illinois? We have since moved out of state and she recently tried to get her license but, was told that Illinois had a hold on it and that she couldn't be licensed at this time. If there is a statute of limitations, how long is it and where might I find documentation to prove it. I have tried locating the documents on the net but am having no luck.

Thank You!
