Question

Statute of limitations

What is the name of your state? Kansas
Am I to understand that even if the statute of limitations has run out on an unpaid speeding ticket, the warrant that is issued never expires? If this is the case in all states including Kansas, if I go to get this cleared up, am I risking arrest? I got the information today as far as the case numbers. Should I hand this over to my attorney to avoid arrest as well as other reasons?

I think you don't understand how the Statute of Limitations works. You should post more details though...

Q: Am I to understand that even if the statute of limitations has run out on an unpaid speeding ticket, the warrant that is issued never expires?

A: You are confused. Once the ticket is filed, the statute of limitations stops running. But, yes, the warrant never dies.

Q: If this is the case in all states including Kansas, if I go to get this cleared up, am I risking arrest? I got the information today as far as the case numbers. Should I hand this over to my attorney to avoid arrest as well as other reasons?

A: You are at risk for arrest period. But, yes, you should hire an attorney to help you plan your surrender.
