Angry

i received a ticket for failure to yield the right of way in new york state on 3/13/93. i mailed the ticket back right away. i had not heard from the since, until today, 4/20/01. now the new york state dmv is going to suspend my licence. Why did it take so long to come back on me? is there a statute of limitations on this?

Interested in the Outcome

I'm interested in finding out what happened in your situation. I live in Texas and have since I moved from NY in 1979. Just last week I was notified my Texas license would be revolked (in 30 days) due to 1 accident in 1979 and 1 in 1980 in which the driver (or vehicle) did not have insurance. I did not live there then and as a matter of fact did not even own a car in 1979. NY state happily told me to send them 600 bucks and that would take care of the problem. They had no other information other than maybe it was a car I sold and someone never transfered title and had a couple of accidents. Unfortunately I have 30 days to resolve this before I lose my Texas license (NY says it'll take them 60 days to process once they receive their 600 bucks. Glad I left that unorganized nut house up there now!
