stolen plates

What is the name of your state? I had several tickets on my last car, none of them traffic related, just no inspection sticker, and not having it registered. As a result of being out of work & having said car die, I was unable to go to court to fight these & my license was suspended. I've since paid off all the fines & and only have to pay the state of NH to get my privileges reinstated. I have been driving without my license (I know, stupid, but I had to since there is no public transportation in my town & to pay off the fines I had to work - classic catch-22) Also, because I couldn't register my new car, a friend gave me a license plate which he claimed was "out of use" to put on my car until I was able to get my license back & my car registered.
Well, I got pulled over & they found out that the plate was stolen. Now I've been charged with receiving stolen goods, as well as driving w/o my license. My car was also impounded & I haven't been able to get to work, so I am now almost broke, and unable to pay the fee to get reinstated/license/registration. What, if anything can I do? Please help, I'm desperate & scared to death. Thank you.
