Stop Sign In Staten Island, NY

What is the name of your state? NY

A few months ago i blew a stop sign coming off a dead highway onto a dead street...i didn't really blow it but i rolled through it at slow speeds mainly because i was new to driving a manual car and i felt the car boggling and i hesitated and hit the gas again and went instead of braking and clutch in. When the officer came to window i just was nervous and didn't know what to say so i was just giving yes no answers.

Anywho I pleaded not guilt and am taking it to court because i dont want the 3 points on my license, the court date is in Nov (helluva wait) but anywho does anyone know if telling the truth would offer some sort of degrade in points/fee? Is there any way out of it? i prefer not to get a lawyer either. I do have a clean license aside from a ticket in NJ which i will be fighting in sept. And if it makes any difference i have a tinting ticket too that i have to fight with the stop sign but that ill just bring proof of me taking off the tints on the windows and i'll be fine.
