I heard a rumor that police officers can't get in a pursuit with a motorcycle once it hits a certain speed? Any information on this would help

Oh ha well i dont think anyones going to be going 300mph to lose a cop.. but what if you have someone on the back of the bike that is unwilling forced into the chase.. putting his/her life in great danger.. do the cops still chase risking that life?
