Teenager In AccidentMy grand daughter was in an accident this past Saturday. She turned left into another car at a signal, she had gotten her drivers license 3 hours prior to the accident. The woman she turned into was injured, and left in an ambulance, and said she was going to sue. I'm wondering what my daughter can do to protect her mobile home, and her assets from being taken in court, or if this is even possible. If it goes to court she will lose for sure, because it was all my grand daughter's fault. If you have any info that can be of help please post it. ~ Rob |

| Its kinda late but that is why YOU NEVER carry the minimum insurance if you own anything of value. Yes the rates would be higher each year but then you would never have to ask this question again. I mean.. Your grand daughter could lose her job, and have the trailer repossesed, then she will own Nothing. Was there a left turn signal and the other driver ran the red light? | RELAX and take many DEEP BREATHS. You might need a brown paper bag to avoid hyperventilating. (I'm not a doctor The lady was HURT and ANGRY. She may feel diferently when she is in a better frame of mind. I'll SUE is what many people say. If your daughter and grand daughter are properly insured, then the insurance company may be able to pay them enough to make the lady WELL and HAPPY. Odds are that your daughter is sued, the lady will seek a contingency lawyer (AKA Ambulance chaser). They take as much as they can usually 1/3 to 50% PLUS expenses. Thus, if the insurance company offers her a good deal, then she might take it and not sue. I hope your daughter has much more than the minimum insurance. |
