texas speeding ticket

Got a speeding ticket in Bexar County Texas, city of Converse. Was going to take defensive driving but haven't been able to. Deadline date to take course was 01.21.02 with deadline to turn in paperwork of 02.21.02.
Today's date is 02.11.02. Is it too late to have an attorney try to dismiss the ticket? Is it too late to take the course (see above dates)?
If the answer to both questions is yes, then I will accept my punishment and have the ticket put on my record. Help!! Any info would be great.

SA provides many opportunities to take Defensive Driving--check the Yellow Pages. And there's a video taped course. Did you at least request your Driving Record as required? That takes the most time to receive.

If you don't meet the 21 Feb deadline, you'll receive notice from the court to appear and explain why you haven't completed the course. If you have good reason why you were unable to present proof within 120 days, they may (they are not required) grant you an extension. Failure to appear may result in a warrant being issued.

Call the Converse PD, it's doubtful they will waive the original drop dead date (21 Jan) if they do take the course ASAP-- you might make the original paperwork deadline because the DD instructors are usually very efficient at getting the paperwork out of their office and back to the student because they realize some of us wait until the very last second to get things done.

That's the Ticket (432-5233) has 3 locations. Classes everyday or split classes M/T, W/T. I got my paperwork back from them very quickly.

Don't know about the ticket dismissal...by choosing to take defensive driving I think you entered a plea of no contest and I don't know if you are allowed to change your mind this late in the game. Good luck.
