What is the name of your state? I live in Michigan. My son had a car he was working on that was parked in front of my house. This was a car that a friend of his put in his name, including title, registration and insurance. At some point he and his friend had a falling out and the friend wouldn't sign over the title. The car (much to my dismay) sat in front of the house while in the meantime the plates and insurance expired. The car was towed and a ticket was issued in my name. I beleive that the police contacted the friend of my son (since his name would have shown up at inquiry)
and were told that my son was the owner, who by the way has the same name as mine. I am not trying to put this on my son's friend, I feel that my son is the person to take responsibilty for this ticket. Can someone let me know where I stand legaly?

You are correct so send a letter of explanation back to the traffic violations office advising them to reissue the ticket in your sons name.
