What is the name of your state? Ohio

I was driving last week and got pulled over by a cop front my
apt street. He told me
that my car's signal light was too bright(it is whitish blue).
However, when he got back from his car, he gave me a citation on
my exhust saying that he will just give me a ticket on my exhust rather than giving me a ticket on my signal light.

I just don't get it because I was driving like 5~10 miles per hr
and I noticed that cop was in my sight about 10 feets away so
I was really driving slow and becareful.

My car is automatic and therefore, it is not loud when I am
driving that slow. I believe those motocycle and junk cars
are much louder than my car. I had my car for more than 5 years
now and I never had any ticket for my exhust noise.

Do you think there is a chance that I can win on my case,
if I contestify on my court day? Otherwise, I need to pay
87 dollars.

Please give me some feedback as soon as possible if you read
this. Thank you.

----> If he would have gotten you for your signal as being too bright, he could have also checked it off as a moving violation which not only gives you points, but ups your insurance rates.

If you go to court a judge will ask if in fact there is something wrong with the exhaust , and the answer would be *yes*. Other people on the road with similar trouble is irrellivant since you don't know if they too were cited or not for starters. So then along with the ticket amount, you also face court costs. Then he might also ask for the proof the exhaust was fixed. Did you repair it?

I'd pay the $87 and be done with it. Look on the bright side: at least its a non moving violation.
