Ticket for passanger not wearing seal belt

What is the name of your state? RI
I got a ticket for the passangers in the back of my SV not wearing seatbelt. When we sat in the car I made sure everyone was wearing seatbelt. However I cant keep looking back to make sure everyone is still wearing seatbelts while driving. Is there anything I can do to avoid pleading guilty. I dont think I should be fined for something so stupid. The officer also mentioned on the ticket that I was going 30 MPH in a 25 MPH are but did not give me a ticket for speeding. He also put in the year for my DOB incorrect. Please help I need to go to the court tomorrow to defend this ticket. The statute under which he gave me this ticket was 31-22-22.
Thanks!

Sorry, but as the driver, it really is your responsibility to ensure that all of your passengers are wearing seat belts. If I were you, I'd make the "friend" of yours pay up, but that's up to you.

Looks like you're looking about a base fine of $75, which doesn't include any court fees that they will back tacking on.

The officer doesn't have to cite you for speeding if he doesn't want to, and sounds like he was cutting you a break by not doing so.

Your date of birth was not related to the crime, so having it recorded incorrectly really doesn't mean much.
