Ticket under advisement / Statue of Limitations

What is the name of your state?
Michigan
In a quick nutshell:
I got a ticket for reckless driving (squealed the rear tires) in July 2004. I hired a lawyer right away and got a court date for Sept. 2004. The court postponed the court date 3 times until finally Feb. 2005. The ticket was placed under advisement for a period of 6 months, I was told not to get into any trouble at all and the ticket would be dismissed when I reappeared. 8 months passed and no letter from the court as to another court date. The lawyer left the firm so I could not contact him. I called the court and they took my number and said they would get back to me. Fast forward to present, April 2007 I get a notice to reappear in court May 2007 for review of this matter. I have moved in this time. I have changed insurance companies during the last year and nothing has shown up so I figured this was dismissed. Is there a statue of limitations on this infraction? It happened over 33 months ago and was taken under advisement over 27 months ago. What do you think? I know I have to show up for the court date but is there a time limit that they should have had to adhere by?What is the name of your state?

Statute of Limitations only refers to the time between when the crime was committed and when charges were pressed. Charges were pressed when you got the ticket, so SoL no longer applies your situation. You may wish to look into your right to a speedy trial, but my guess is that that no longer applies to you either.
