Question

TN ticket SOL?

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?
violation in TN, live in WA, soon moving to GA

in september of 2002 my husband got a ticket 77/55 (maybe 72, the cop had awful handwriting but whatever) in Grundy Cty, Tennessee. the ticket was for $137. since we are poor and were at the time driving west to stay indefinently, we flaked out and never paid or acknowledged them or anything. nor did they ever send us anything, and they have the accurate address on the ticket. we plan to move back to Ga soon and i imagine that we will get new licenses. so my questions are:
1. is there a statute of limitations in TN?? if so , what?
2. will this ticket affect his ability to get a GA license?
3. is it / will it effect his insurance? we have been insured since then and i'm pretty sure that this offense has never come into play.

i don't want to have problems with our licenses and insurance.
i am also sick of having to drive every time we pass through tennessee.
my husband would gladly take a traffic course to avoid a fine.
any suggestions?

1. Go to the state Department of Motor vehichles and request his complete drivers' record ( usually there is a fee for such). Review the record for this particular incident. Most states work in conjunction with other states on reporting violations. Most records can be reviewed for the past 7 years history.
2.Unknown til the record is reviewed. There may be other concerns on the driving record.
3.Again unknown on how your particular insurance company operates on speeding violations.
4. Pay the fine. Its really that simple. Possible warrant may interest your spouses' desire to pay accordingly.
