| | | | Too fast for Driving Conditions? What is the name of your state? CT
I just got a ticket. "Too fast for driving conidtions" - it was raining and I was going over the posted speed limit by 15 mph. He said "I am doing a favvor by reducing it to 'Too fast for driving conditions'" . This may be true, but on the ticket he has not posted any speeds. Should I contest?? |

| | | Sure, you CAN contest it. But, if CT is like CA, we do not HAVE to write the speeds on the citations - we can mention it when we testify in court. Chances are you won't prevail unless you have some sort of defense.

| | | Ah, we forget what we learn in driver's ed so quickly. Remember, the posted speed limit for any road is considered the maximum safe speed under ideal conditions. Anything that reduces the roadway safety conditions should warrant a reduction in ones driving speed. This includes rain, snow, even the darkness of night. I know someone that received a citation for excessive speed and he was driving only 10 mph. The road was covered in ice at the time and he lost control of his car and hit a telephone pole.
