Towing Fee on Stolen Vehicle

What is the name of your state? SC . Greenville Co. Sheriffs Department recovered our truck which had been stolen and had it towed by some towing company. Towing company charged us $150.00 to get out. At the time I did not know it was againt the law to charge the victims. CODE OF LAW (Section 56-5-5630)
We contacted Greenville Co. and thats the way they did it there.
What should I do?

I also live in Greenville SC. The sheriff's department has a victim's assistance department that has funds available. Contact them and apply for the money to cover the towing fee.

If you have comprehensive insurance then the insurance company may reimburse you. Contact your agent.
