Traffic Court/Ca Laws

What is the name of your state? Kentucky

We are in Ky. and my wife got a truly outrageous speeding ticket in California, she called the court and to tell them she was going to contest the ticket and they told her she would have to pay the ticket first? anyway she flew back out to Ca. and went to Ukiah, Ca. Court House, she was directed to room were they told her was how much to pay, she told them she could not pay this amount now and they ask her if she wanted to do community service or set up payments. She thought she was there for court but they gave her some papers to sign telling her this for making payments, well come to find out they were papers pleading guilty and waiving her right to trial, not being familiar with Ca. she signed the papers. She felt like she was tricked into signing the papers. There was no traffic court. whats is up with this she was going to contest the ticket (81 in a 55) and there is noway possible she was doing this speed, she won't drive that fast on a interstate much less a curvey mountain road, now there saying if doesn't pay $491.00 her licence will be suspended. can Ca. do this to Ky. D/L and what about her showing up for court when there was none? Also she was willing to go to traffic school and they told her she couldn't because her ticket was for 30 over the speed limt, to the best of my knowledge in basic math 81-55= 26? help!!!

Speeds of more than 25 over the limit are not eligible for traffic school.

And yes, they can suspend your license status. KY is a member of the interstate driver's license compact, and if CA suspends her driving privelege for failing to take care of the violation then KY can honor that suspension by suspending her license there ... if KY suspends for the same offense alleged in CA.
