Traffic School

I am from OHIO and last week I got a Ticket in Kentucky for speeding. I was stopped for Driving at 85 at 65 Limit. I was given a citation asked me to call a number on that citation for details. When i called them they said that I have to pay $165.50 and said I got 6 points. This is my first ticket.

They also said that I can get rid of all my 6 points (yes, they said all 6 point) if I pay $125.50 and join a Traffic School. Now I have the following questions

1. If there is any scool in and around Dayton OH where I can join an approved traffic school instead of going to Kentucky? Where I can get such information. The people who gave me the above info could not answer this question.
2. Is there a way I can do the course without personally attending? Usually, how much does a Traffic Scool course charge that can take all the 6 points off my record?

3. Is there any website that can give me the details like the fine, speeding ticket points etc

I appreciate your help in advance
Thanks

First of all Kentucky cannot place points on your drivers license. Only the Ohio DMV can do that. Normally out of state tickets are reported to your home state and treated just as if you received it there. Call the Ohio DMV and see what they say. The only way traffic school will help is if the Kentucky court agreees not to report the ticket back to Ohio.

All your replies were just great and more than what I expected. But may I know if there is any web site on Traffic Schools in Ohio state? Is there any contact number where I can get the info on Schedules and the Course Duration?

I appreciate your response,
Thank you very much.

I don't know why you need Ohio's info. on driving school. Did you get a ticket there also?

As I mentioned earlier, I am a resident of OH but got the ticket in Kentucky. Can't i attend the traffic school in OH if I get the ticket in Kentucky?

Is the course from http://www.drivinguniversity.com/ is approved by Kentucky court?

Thanks for the websites.

You can certainly ask the Kentucky court. But I would think the state would want the money from their own traffic court.

Didn't you see that you can take on-line classes if the court approves?
