I received a ticket for no proof of insurance in Georgia. I was not driving my car at the time. My friend, the driver, ran a red light and was pulled over and given the ticket for running the red. The officer gave me a ticket for no proof of insurance. I did not know at the time that my car had no insurance and thought that I just needed to get the insurance card from my mother to clear the ticket. My mother had just given me the car and I had engine work done on it. The insurance she had on it ended four days before I got the ticket and I put insurance on it the next day. In Georgia, I could lose my license for this offense. Do I have a chance in court if I have evidence of both insurance plans and evidence that the car was just given to me?
