Traffic ticket for improper passing

What is the name of your state? Indiana

I received a ticket for improper passing to the right and want to fight the ticket in court because I'm not guilty. What is the best defense to use in court?

I received the ticket while heading home, only 1 block from my house. I was traveling on a two lane highway that widens to another lane in both directions. I moved from the left to the right lane in order to turn into my driveway to go home. The police officer who stopped me thought I was going to pass cars to the left. I first saw the officer's car 1 mile down the road from where I was stopped so I wasn't about to do anything illegal. I have no prior traffic violations on my record. Can anyone help me?

The best way would be to take a video camera and reproduce the incident. Also take several pictures from the officers point of view to show how he could misinterpret your actions.

You need to contact the clerk of court and properly enter a not guilty plea and schedule your court date. If you are pleading not guilty it is usually a waste of time to wait and go on the court date listed on your ticket.

Remember that traffic court is more about money than being guilty.

If you are a minor then one of your parents will have to appear in court with you.

The best way to prepare is to attend some other sessions of the same court. If everybody is being found guilty then you are wasting your time. Opt for traffic school and pay the fine.
