Question

Ohio, Driving east bound left lane, moderate traffic, line of cars behind my vehicle and a semi-truck in front of me. The semi driver had wanted over so I slowed and let him over a minute earlier. I saw a police car driving west bound, checked my speed ok. Glanced over and made eye contact with officer when he passed by on the opposite side(mistake I think). The officer turned his signal on but had to travel about 3/4 mile before a turn around. I lost view of him. Eventually appears lights flashing in the left lane trying to pass the cars in front of him. I got into the right lane because I thought he was going to get the semi for speeding. Pulls me over for driving too close to the semi in front of me. Is it worth while to contest this traffic ticket? I don't want any more points. How can an officer pull someone over when they can not actually See the distance between the car and truck in question? Thanks for the help.

It depends on the judge. Tell the story you told here except omit the part about the police officer in the opposite lane. You were just trying to be courteous and were ticketed for it.
