| i live in maryland and i was told by a friend that if you are pulled over and are written a ticket, that the officer must be in full uniform or you dont have to accept the ticket. That means if he pulls over and he doesn't have his hat on, you dont have to accept the ticket. Is this true? Can anyone help? |

| Yes. If the officer is not wearing his/her regulation boxer, brief or thong, simply say "you're out of uniform pal" and drive away. Or you could wait on the side of the road with your car doors locked, with your window slightly open and ask him/her to call a uniformed officer and the beat Sargeant. Do not wind down the window or unlock the car doors until the uniformed officers arrive and you are positive that they are real and not impersonators. |
