Question

My boyfriend recieved a DUI(.03) and speeding ticket(24 miles an hour over) when he was 16. The speeding ticket was dropped in court and he then had his licence revoked for 6 months for the DUI. They are now saying the ticket was never revoked and trying to take his licence away for another year. He has contacted his lawyer but his lawyer has done nothing to help him and the 10 period that you have to contest has long passed. What can he do? We live in Georgia.

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

I don't understand what you mean by the 10 year period to contest has long passed.

Easy, get another lawyer and have him/her help with the following:

DOes your boyfriend have court records in his posession indicating the ticket was revoked?

If not, his attorney can subpoena them.

Try attorneypages.com or call your state bar association and ask for lawyer referral.
