In July of this year I went to New York out of LAX airport. I arrived at the parking structure at 5:00a.m. and parked near the handicapped parking spaces. About 6 spaces over. The spot I picked had no indications that it was a handicapped space. No sign posted,no blue paint marking the space I was in.When I realized that they thought it was a handicapped parking spot I got out of my car and inspected the entire area, also taking several picture of my choosen spot. There was no clear evidence that this was handicapped parking only. As I backed out of the parking spot on the bottom right hand corner was about 12 inches of old blue paint of the bottom of a wheelchair wheel. That's it. No sign, nothing clearly stated of posted. I've already contacted the courts. They say they have inspected the questionable space but find that I am still at fault. I disagree. I do have two witnesses that will right a letter in my behalf. I am open for any advice to help me fight this unjust ticket.
Thx Merry

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Writing a letter on your behalf is great, if they get it notarized.

Check the code in california regarding airport parking and upkeep. For instance, in Los Angeles county, parking meters are supposed to be inspected twice a year. A lot of people use this argument to get out of a ticket.

So...go to state laws, then state statutes, and check california and go from there. Otherwise, contact the city and see where that would take you.
