Unpaid traffic tickets

What is the name of your state? NY Is there a statute of limitations on an unpaid traffic violation? (no seatbelt)

I got the ticket while out-of-town (in Geneva...I live in Brooklyn) their court requires you to pay in person. My lisence could not be renewed therefore I cannot "appear in person" to pay.

**A: Come on, you're telling us that no cab, train, bus, truck, skateboard, road, boat, ship, plane etc. goes from Brooklyn to Geneva?

Just wanted a simple question answered without having to go into a history of the circumstances. Geneva is not around the corner it's an 8 hour trip and would rather find an easier way to resolve this ticket. If I have to go...I'll go but I'm just looking at all my options and the ticket was from 10 years ago.

Then, once again, why can't you pay the ticket?

Funny . I had moved out of state... (CA) and because of lack of communication between NYS and CA did not need to pay the fine to get a CA license...now I am back in NY and was just wondering...without having to go through a lot of bs (not successfully) if it is still valid. I am NOT in the habit of dodging my responsibilities but this IS one that slipped through the cracks so...I could do without the sarcasm obviously this is not a lawyer site but a bunch of highschool dropouts playing games on their parents computers. IF there is anyone that could answer my original question as to the existence or non-existence of a sol on traffic tickets I would appreciate it. As to those who got law degrees on the internet or in Mexico...just go light another joint and stare at the wallpaper.
