Unsigned Speeding Ticket

Hi..I received a speeding ticket in October 2004 and my Court Date was in December of the same year but I didn't go because the Superior Court did not even send me the ticket information until June 2005. That's not the problem of what I wanted to posted about, but I digress...

I was a Senior in High School in October and I was heading off to work.. Unlike the rest of the people that attend my school, I get off early at 2 o'clock when the rest of the people get off at 3 o'clock. The officer caught me going 40 in what would be a 40mph zone, but since he said it was by a school, the speed was supposed to be 25mph. If this is an issue that I can fight, then please let me know.

The main point of this post is that the officer did not sign my ticket. Does this mean that it is invalidated? I received another mail saying that they did make the mistake of not signing it, but I do not know if it is valid or invalid.

-You apparantly were caught in a "School Zone", thus the speed limit is 25 mph. Normally there are signs posted stating this. You can always fight a ticket but due to the fact that you go to the school you should have known this.

What code section were you cited for?

If an Officer makes a mistake on a citation, generally they issue an amendment to the citation. The ammendment is mailed to the person cited and also goes with the citation to the courthouse.
