VA Reckless Driving charge - MD resident

What is the name of your state? MD

Hi,

I received a reckless driving ticket - doing 81 in a 65 in Hanover county. Hired a attorney - the final result was that I'm to complete a defensive driving course after which the charge would be dismissed

The official letter states that I'm to complete a 6 - 8 hour defensive driving course approved by my state - that would be MD. I could not find any defensive driving courses approved by the MD MVA. They do have the PSC and DIP courses. Can I take the online courses recognized by VA (listed on the VA DMV site but not approved by MD) to satisfy the requirement - my lawyer says yes but I wanted to check. If I have to take a MD approved course, does any one have recommendations ?

The best way is to contact the clerk of court and get written permission to take the online course.
