what happens to tickets if you sell/gift your car?

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? California

What happens to the status of your parking and moving violation tickets if
you sell or gift your vehicle? To what degree are you still accountable if you choose to not register or insure a vehicle again?

Thanks in advance; any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think IAAL needs to include this post in his "End of Year" thing he does.

In fact, you are so astonishingly correct in this matter, it will not surprise us one bit if you are offered a generous settlement, because, by golly, that’s just how it should be.

Moving violations belong to the driver - NOT the car. They must still be taken care of or the person they were issued to will be arrested and/or have his/her license suspended.

Parking violations will just get attached to the registration of the car and someone will be responsible for them ... or the new owner will get his car towed for the unpaid cites.

Well in Hawaii the violation belong to the previous owner; that is they should have filed a notice of transferr.
As the car buyer you will find this out when you go to register the car.
Also if the violations are in the owners name/their's or yours you won't be able to renew car reg ot moving you have to sign the ticket and you did not show there will be a warrant for your arrest, etc. NO Lic.
This is an opinion and not legal advice...
Read the Hawaii HRS....

Why did you even spend the time posting that non-relevant drivel??

There are at least 17 lawsuits (!!) pending in various courts, including the US Supreme Court, asking if Obama is a natural born citizen (as req'd by Art II, Sec 1 of the US Constitution).

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!
