What is my best course of action? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California I received a speeding ticket in august of last year. Due to my busy schedule, i was able to postpone it until this week. I have an arraignment on Friday. I was caught going 85 in a 65 on 880. My question is, what is probably my best chance of winning this or reducing the fine. I have done a few tbds in the past, and have had 1 dismissed due to officer not submitting one and another because i was able to prove my case versus the officer. The reason i'm worrying is because there are currently no points on my insurance, but i have 2 speeding tickets still pending. I don't want to do a tbd, lose, and have a point on my insurance due to not being able to do traffic school. 10 month's later, what are the chances the officer may have transferred or would still care enough to submit a statement. If i were to lose, would i be able to go to court and ask the judge for a partial refund much like if i were to just go to an arraignment and plead guilty and request traffic school? If i were to go with the latter route, how much would a judge typically slash the fine amount to? my ticket is 300 btw. Thanks. |

| I actually don't have the ticket with me anymore. What are some of the outcomes of people who have been in my situation? I have to make my decision by the end of tonight/ tomorrow morning. Thanks to all... |

| I'll say it before someone else does... your hosed Delaying, procrastination, hopes and prayer will not get a ticket reduced. Without the details, of what happen and what you were cited for, you are going to be hard preset to present any defense. You could still do a TBD and if you loose you can appeal and have a real hearing that might give you some time to prepare a real defense.

| with no real points sticking on my record, the judge wouldn't usually reduce the fine? if i do my tbd, and request a trial de novo if i lose, would it be an arraignment or an actual court date with the officer present? thanks. |
